Today I remembered people who have gone before. It is such a mystery.

I hope everyone has the support and love they need in difficult times. And has the grace and compassion that Lorna and her family have shown. My heart goes out to the Thomas Haug family.

All things end. Good, bad, neutral; nothing lasts forever. Including hair dryers. I am just glad it just stopped blowing and didn’t electrocute me or anything unpleasant like that.

Replacing it was quite easy. On my way to the farmer’s market (first of the season yay!), I stopped by the place where I get my hair cut… they could order one for me and it would take a few days and would cost over $200. Sometimes it is worth buying best quality for something that will last. Unfortunately it is not in this family’s current budget. I went to a drug store and picked one up for $17. A hair dryer (material + labour + packaging + shipping) must have cost more than that to create.

What a strange world we live in. Where an electronic device costs less than a small bag of locally grown vegetables.

A few years ago I bought a video tripod. But it never seemed to work as well as other peoples. It would do this annoying glitchy jump when I would try to pan. It never seemed to tighten properly. But I had so many other things I was focusing that I never bothered to get to then bottom of it. I just thought I had a dud tripod and that it was too late to get it fixed or replaced with the warranty.

Well, yesterday I finally asked for help with it. I walked into the camera store to check out any tripods I could upgrade to or if there was any maintenance that could be done. Ended up talking to Lucas who was totally amazing and in 10 minutes had it fixed and as good as new (better even). So awesome.

Sometimes you got to ask for help.
